“Word Power” will forever remain Pre-eminen for mind as well as personality. My prompt of the word ‘straffing’ got me the immediate rank of a Corporal back in the Academy. And the casual use of ‘antipathy’ back in my youth, made me the cynosure at a social do.
Of course there are catches!!! Must never ever use new words (specially long difficult ones) just to show off. “Her pearls of wisdom best kept to herself”.

And then shorter the word, better it is. Most important, no word can beat the well timed, pregnant ‘pause’.

Of Speech vs Silence, Later.
